About me

Originally from San Francisco, California, I grew up in Toronto, Canada and attended the Ontario College of Art (now OCADU) and was a participant in the off campus studies program in 1980-1981. I worked as a caricature artist and illustrator and have gained a reputation as a painter of landscapes, birds and wildlife with an interest in man’s relationship with nature and our current ecological crisis. These issues have always concerned me as I have a great love of nature and the outdoors.

I have been featured in Arabella Magazine (2017-2018) and have won many awards. I am represented by the St. Germain Gallery in Toronto and the Algonquin Art Centre.

About my Current Work

The Algonquin Highlands are named after the Algonquin people who inhabited the area and were sculpted by glaciers that carved the landscape and made it into what it is today. It is part of the Canadian Shield and is dotted with thousands of lakes, rivers, bogs and rocky outcrops of granite and basalt.

A vast wilderness of oak, maple beech, spruce and pine, it is what Ontario looked like before the white man. Algonquin Park was a source of inspiration for Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven and many other artists who came afterwards.

It is abundant with wildlife and mixed deciduous and coniferous forest that makes it popular with campers and hikers as well as those of us who are inspired by nature’s rugged beauty.
